Previously known as Empire Alternacade & Events, the venue opened in the heart of Cairns City in 2019 and quickly built a following as a go-to for something a little different. With its mix of arcade games, music and laid-back atmosphere, it became a familiar spot for both locals and travellers passing through.

Now reimagined as Murphy’s Pub, the venue enters a new chapter – evolving from its alternative roots into an Irish sports bar. The space has been refreshed to focus on what brings people together: live sport, quality pub food and a warm, social atmosphere.

While the offering has changed, the sense of community remains at its core. Murphy’s builds on the site’s history, bringing a new energy to the venue while continuing its role as a place to catch up, settle in and feel part of the local scene.
